I start my year with a headache, I write in this book and take care of business, plus some letters and tidying the rooms to start my year well. – Exchange cards with local friends. R. has his troubles with Mr. Voltz and Batz. – 

It is very strange to me that he is looking for the theme of the Scherzo in his symphony, while I am now looking for this lost symphony for his birthday. – 

In the evening we read the conclusion about the apparent intentionality in the fate of the individual, and “What one is.”[1]
