From Berlin R. receives a letter, signed by Emperor Wilhelm, according to which he will from now on receive royalties on Der FI. Holländer as well, which is pleasant news for him.

Visit from Baron Rotenhan[1] and his niece, Frl. von Minutoli. Very pleasant, well-bred people. In the afternoon to the ice, on Lusch’s account. Alone in the evening, conversed with R. — 

Some days ago Baron Hofmann[2] wrote from Vienna, reporting some signs of life in the W[agner] Society in Vienna, and saying at the same time that Herbeck[3], the opera director, was thinking of doing Tristan-, R. writes refusing permission for the latter. Frau v. Schl. reports that the times are still very imfavorable for her sale.
