The children in church, R. on his score, I dealing with correspondence. In the afternoon from 4 o’clock on a great business debate with the two agents Voltz and Batz; friend Feustel asks me to remain in the room. The matter remains undecided, since they oppose it with all their might; they are coming again in the middle of next week. — 

In the evening the children act out a comedy for us, for which they dressed themselves up very prettily. . . . Serious observations concerning the children’s characters.
