Much back and forth between the singers and Richard; they all behave consistently well; on the other hand, the members of the Karlsruhe orchestra behave less well.

The magnificent Mimi writes again about a patronage note, which she sold to Duke Ratibor, and about a painting by Angeli[1], which she sold to Mr Wesendonck. The conferences regarding the inn yield a very stingy result. The town is of very little help.
